An apartment building in Lucerne is being transformed into furnished, age-friendly homes – step-free, energy-efficient and ready for an additional storey in future.
The project, Lucerne, Core refurbishment
At Luzernerstrasse 30 in Lucerne we are planning the comprehensive renewal of an apartment building into furnished, age-friendly homes. The building will be stripped back to its floor slabs and stairwell and rebuilt inside using timber construction.
The building will gain external insulation, new windows, a heat pump with underfloor heating and a lift. The homes are designed to be step-free – with parquet, slip-resistant ceramic tiles, fibre-optic internet and Wi-Fi, and a video intercom with a 24-hour emergency call service. A shared meeting space will be created in the garden.
The structure and building services are already prepared for an additional storey in future. ELEVATE is planning and delivering the project as turnkey contractor in partnership with crowdhouse.
