From commercial space to homes: in Wauwil we converted vacant commercial space into modern, part-furnished apartments.
The project, Wauwil, Conversion
On Glasiweg in Wauwil, a commercial space had been standing empty with no new use in sight. We converted it into modern, part-furnished apartments – with new kitchens and bathrooms and a fit-out designed for compact living.
The project shows how unused space can quickly become homes that people want. The apartments have been occupied since autumn 2025, and the approach can be applied to other commercial spaces.
